I recently did a micro tour with my other other other band Today The Sun Dies, mostly in Scotland. It went fairly well and I made some observations along the way hat I would like to share here.
On the first date we were offered lodging with the folks who lived above the pub which I gladly accepted however I began to think of similar situations I have been in and the following occurred to me.
I feel somewhat voyeuristic. I am removed from my normal routine and am behaving in a perceived tour mode. yet I am staying with people who are behaving normally, seeing a random cross-section of their lives. Involved yet separate and outside like a disparate third-party observer. The effect is somewhat disconcerting.
the rest of the dates went fine with little of interest to report.

the latest track previews from the new scar symmetry and septic flesh albums have gotten me pretty wet.
been in the studio doing an ep for hesper, an actual studio this time, one of the students at the local college is recording us for his final project, i had forgoten what fun but hard experience studio recording was. also doing more hesper music for the competition winner, part of his prize is a song written for him. the winner lives in panama and it blows my mind that some dude on the othrer side of the world digs our music that much.
applying for more jobs, bored with call center work, thinking going back into study.

to my previous post I have been watching the two-part BBC documentary first life. Really cool but it makes me wish I had stuck with my education, I always wanted to be a paleontologist and to specialise in Cambrian fauna.

If you had a time machine that only let you spend one hour in a different time, what date would you go to?
Too many places I would want to go but probably the mid Cambrian so I could see all those super weird Cambrian Explosion animals. I would hunt down a little worm called Pikia and say ‘how mate, I know its tough being second from bottom in the food chain, but hang in there your kids are destined for great things’. Then I would go onto the land and experience the quiet earth with no humans or even animals, nothing but primitive plants. I bet it would be beyond peacefull with no sound but water and the wind. I would try to soak up the potential of the world as it is at that moment, a blank canvas headed anywhere. Then I would return home and wonder if the earth would be a better place with out us.

I’ve decided I want to blog more. Rather than just thinking about doing it, I’m starting right now. I will be posting on this blog once a week for all of 2011.
I know it won’t be easy, but it might be fun, inspiring, awesome and wonderful. Therefore I’m promising to make use of The DailyPost, and the community of other bloggers with similar goals, to help me along the way, including asking for help when I need it and encouraging others when I can.
If you already read my blog, I hope you’ll encourage me with comments and likes, and good will along the way.
Signed,
Brooke

I recently felt like writing and recording a crust punk / grind core album for no reason other than my own enjoyment. The link to the free download is in the Discography (right hand side of the screen about half way down) should you be so inclined as you to want a listen.

With the familly was the usual super fun experience, the dales in the snow are breathtaking. It was fantastic to step outside of the everyday and hang out with the folks.
Did some drawing, some writing and some music in between vast meals and the panto. Cought up on my reading. Its nice to be around the things that make life worthwhile and to refresh why I’m greatfull for the people in my life.
My favourite jumper now smells like Jet the dog, a mix of sweaty feet and earwax, but thats cool, he is always happy to see me and even Mr Richmond the cat aclimatised to the usual trauma of the journey quite quickly.
Playing silent hill on the wii is a new notch up in the levels of pant soiling gaming, great stuff.
Got to hang out with my boy Nevets at new year and as always was a small moon sized heap ‘o fun, was sad to see some nice folks making the same mistakes and not learning from the cycle, especially as they are cogniscent of it all. Resignation is a terrible thing and I must make sure I never give in to it.
The new axis album is congealing rapidly, its our best yet. Tired cliche aside I am genuinely excited for people to hear it.
Lots to look forward to and to work towards in the new year
I hope that it goes well for you.
